Supporting Health Care Careers and Honoring a Long‑Time Provider’s Legacy
VISALIA, CA — JANUARY 14, 2026 — Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) is pleased to announce that scholarship applications are now open for the Anita de la Vega Scholarship Fund. The Anita de la Vega scholarship fund was created to support students pursuing careers in health care or community service. Funded through donations made by FHCN team members, the scholarship fund reflects the Network’s long-standing commitment to investing in the communities it serves and honoring Anita de la Vega’s legacy of compassionate care throughout the Central Valley.
Applications will be available beginning February 1, 2026, at fhcn.org/about/anita-fund and
must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Scholarships are open to:
- High school seniors
- Junior college students
- FHCN employees pursuing a career in health care or community service
Eligibility Requirements
All Applicants:
- Actively involved in community service
High School Applicants:
- Seniors attending a public school in Tulare, Kings, Kern, or Fresno County
- Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
Junior College Applicants:
- Attending a junior college in Tulare, Kings, Kern, or Fresno County
- Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
Completed applications may be hand-delivered or mailed to 305 E. Center Ave, Visalia, CA 93291. Applications postmarked after 5:00 p.m. on March 16, 2026, will not be accepted. Questions may be directed to scholarships@fhcn.org.
About Anita de la Vega
Anita de la Vega served as a clinician in Tulare County for over three decades. She believed passionately in serving underserved communities and advocating for her patients. Renowned for her mentorship, work ethic, and commitment to community service, Anita inspired many to pursue higher education in health care. In 2009, FHCN established the scholarship fund in her honor, creating a lasting opportunity for students in the Central Valley to follow in her footsteps.
