At-Home Screening Option Makes Colorectal Cancer Screening More Convenient and Accessible for Eligible Patients

VISALIA, Calif. — October 28, 2026 — Family HealthCare Network is expanding access to colorectal cancer screening by making Cologuard available to eligible patients, providing a convenient, noninvasive option that can be completed in the privacy of their own home.

Colorectal cancer screening plays an important role in preventive health care and early detection. By offering Cologuard, Family HealthCare Network is working to reduce barriers that may prevent patients from completing recommended screenings and making preventive care easier to access throughout the Central Valley.

Cologuard is an at-home screening test for eligible, average-risk adults. The test does not require a trip to a laboratory or preparation for a colonoscopy. Once ordered by a health care provider, the kit is delivered directly to the patient’s home, where the patient collects a sample and returns the completed kit for testing.

Family HealthCare Network patients who have already been seen by their provider this year may be able to request a Cologuard kit without scheduling another in-person appointment. Patients who have not recently been seen may be able to complete a telehealth or in-person visit to determine whether Cologuard is appropriate for them.

Individuals who are not currently Family HealthCare Network patients may contact the Network to learn how to establish care and determine their screening eligibility.

Cologuard is not appropriate for everyone, and a health care provider will determine whether the test is an appropriate screening option based on a patient’s age, health history, risk factors, and current screening recommendations. Patients with certain risk factors or symptoms may need a different type of colorectal cancer screening.

Family HealthCare Network encourages patients who are due for colorectal cancer screening not to delay preventive care.
